Awards Night

On November 20th, I had the distinct honour of being awarded with two awards at the Innis College Award Ceremony.

Evelyn Cotter Book Award:
Given annually to an Innis student who has “demonstrated through diligent work in the Writing Centre their commitment to achieving excellence in writing. This is an award of distinction and a testament to one’s hard work and engagement.

Riendeau Award in Writing & Rhetoric: This award is presented to an academically outstanding Innis College student enrolled in the Writing & Rhetoric program with a CGPA of at least 3.5.

This is a special occasion, as it marks my final semester being enrolled at Innis College.
I remember coming to Innis Town Hall , 5 years ago all excited and nervous about the road ahead.

Who would have thought that this is where I would end up?

I am so glad that I picked Innis as my college. This small community has given me a space where I could thrive and grow into the confident person that I am today.

Thankful to the sponsors of my awards, for providing their support to students as they pursue their endeavours.
I am also thankful to the writing instructors at the writing centre, for not only helping me and teaching me how to edit and improve my writing; but also selecting and nominating me for the award.

I am also grateful to Principal Charlie Keil and Registrar Donald Boere , two individuals who have consistently supported my academics and extracurricular experience at a Innis.

There are so many people to thank for giving me such a wonderful experience at innis. Such as (but not limited to): Kate M. Johnson & Meghan Litteljohn and Steve Masse. As well as my friends from Innis Herald masthead, and Innis College Black students experience —you know who you are.😎 Thank you for a rewarding 4 years and a half.

Congratulations to all the awardees!
